A brief description of the horses we
ride and
love so very much. |
Scout
(owner: Pam Jordon)

Well all I can say is this is a horse of many colors and many names.
"Scout" came to me unexpectedly on March 28, 2010(my 60th birthday) My
new horse (got Dec 09) "Victoria" did not like the drill , all she liked
was trail. While at "Walking Tall Ranch" at a practice session,
"Victoria" showed her dislike for the drill again. Leslie Atkins (owner of
Walking Tall) told me she just brought in a horse from Tennessee for a
prospective buyer and I could use him. Well that funny, little, kinda
ugly spotted horse just went into the drill with no problem. Never been
in the drill before but just went on with it. Leslie was my guardian
angel and let me trade in beautiful Victoria for this funny looking,
sweet horse. Well Scout (then named "Popeye") went home to Bellmead.
When I registered him, I renamed him "Scout's Comotion Colors" , it was a
fitting name. After seeing his papers, I saw he would not be 3 until
August. Wow, a 2 1/2 year old did so well and was so sweet. For some
strange reason, no one (including me) can remember his name. He has been
called, Spot, Pigpen, Meatloaf, Hey you, Freckles, or nothing at all.
Despite it all, he has been a blessing for me. What a great horse with a
lot of potential and willingness. "Victor" (my drill horse) and "Scout"
have gotten to be buddies (except lunch time). Now I have two great
horses. "Scout" loves the trail too. Even after a bath, he still looks
dirty with all the spots in white places. Thank goodness I love him for
his personality and ability and not looks. We all have a great time in
the drill. This is a sisterhood, not just a drill team. We help and love
each other no matter if it is drill team stuff or just everyday life. We
have trail rides, gatherings, exhibitions, competitions and shopping
trips. Needless to say we have a blast and laugh alot. Come join the fun
and companionship of fun, Christian ladies. Cowgirl up, Hang on Tight,

Victor

Hello, may name is Pam Jordon. I acquired a 15
hand (registered spotted saddle horse, I named "Victor Bowtie") in
February 2009. I was looking to purchase a gaited horse from Cloud
9 Walkers. Sylvia Perry, Sara McMillan, and I went on a trail ride
in the Ebinezier Forrest close to Jasper (we did 15 miles in 2
hours). I was riding "Lil Joe", Sara was riding" Vic" and Sylvia was
riding a young horse we called "rocket" After the ride Sara said she
would buy Vic if I didn't so guess what, I did and have never
regretted it. Laura from Cloud 9 Walkers said he was 3 going on 4
years old and they just acquired him from Tennessee week before the
day we rode him. Victor is so sweet and has a kind eye. Victor was a
little slow doing the drill at the beginning but now really likes to
keep going.
In fact he is really the "Clown" of the bunch. If he has to stay
still for too long (more than 10 seconds) he starts to cross his
front legs over and over again. Everyone laughs ! He loves
attention and thinks the world is all about him. What a fun
personality. Don't leave anything unattended or he will move it and
try to take it apart. I don't think he knows he's a horse. He
was thin and lanky when I got him but he has really filled out. Our
vet Dr. Clark said he still has a lot of growing to do and he also said he
is a "clown". Cathaleen's horse "Karumba" stays at our place and
"Victor" and she have a love-hate relationship. They don't like to be apart
but argue when together (like most marriages). This little Spotted Saddle
horse has changed my life and gave me a whole new group of wonderful, close
friends .I thank Sylvia Perry for introducing me to the gaited horse
world. Before this, my world was barrel racing. This is a very close and
joyful group of drill team members to be involved with. You ought to give
us look, Come enjoy the gliding ride of a gaited horse. PS. Still love
riding my barrel horse Rockin Man and running the barrels, so girls and
guys, you don't have to give up your quarter horses, you can have both,
just enjoy the differences in the ride. You won't regret it !!!!!!!!!

Bo Jr’s Reflection came to me by
mere divine intervention. Sylvia & I were in Shelbyville, Tennessee at the
“Celebration” which is the finale for the year of the Tennessee Walker Horse
Breeders and Exhibitors Assoc. I had just sold a Walker that didn’t fit me.
I used the hotel computer to look for horses for sale in the area and found
him near Huntsville Alabama. We drove down and gave him a look. I had told
Sylvia I would only be looking for gentle, spotted, black faced, not too
much white and not very tall. My first impression was yikes! He is so
skinny, but was so sweet and gentle. I rode him and he didn’t gait too, well
, but I was able to gait him some. We went in the creek , through the mud,
over hill and dale and even stood atop a stump. I really started to forget
how thin he was. The next day I called and made an offer. But of course
there was this one little thing, we didn’t take a trailer with us. I called
around and found a ride home for him on a van full of show horses. I think
the guy thought I was nuts when he saw what I wanted transported. Well he
survived the road trip and has put on some weight and keeps growing and
growing. After two years and some special gait training at Walking Tall
Ranch, Aubrey, TX I have a new drill horse who is beautiful, gentle ,
spotted, black faced, with a lot of white and very tall sweetheart I
call “ Dobie”. (check out the ears)
